Monday Musing
Good Morning!
Last Monday I mentioned I listen to music when I write romantic scenes for my WIPs. My current wip is a contemporary western. It involves western ranching with southern hospitality. Here is a partial list of love songs I've used to help set the mood:
I Wanna Be Loved by Eric Benet
The Man In Love With You by George Strait
When You Kiss Me by Shania Twain and
Never Gonna Let You Go by Faith Evans
What are some love songs you've used to set your romantic mood?

I think writing and music go hand-in-hand but it's hard for me to listen to anything with lyrics when I'm writing (I end up singing along and concentrating on the verses, LOL). For that reason, when I do use music as background, I go for instrumentals . . . celtic harp, guitar, piano, dulicmer.
ReplyDeleteThen when I'm all done, I make a CD of songs (with lyrics) that remind me of my characters and the story theme!
I can't listen to music with words and write at the same time either. What I do is visualize my scene while I listen to the song, then write the scene or scenes. Thanks for responding!
